Fluid Property Sensors

Our Fluid Property Sensor (FPS) is designed to provide OEMs with a fully integrated and dedicated sensor platform that meets the high volume production, stringent performance, and lifetime standards of the transportation industry. A dominant application is the direct installation of the FPS for on and off road passenger and heavy vehicles to monitor engine oil, fuels, urea and hydraulic fluids for condition and quality.

Our FPS urea quality sensor measures the critical parameters of Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF) to determine the quality and concentration of the DEF urea solution. Whether one chooses an in-line urea quality sensor or in-tank urea level sensor, real-time multi-parametric analysis allows high performance algorithms to provide direct feedback to urea feed control systems or ECMs to optimize emission control for NOx reduction. The urea quality sensor is an important addition to OBD NOx emissions management for JP 09, EPA 10, Tier IV and EURO VI engines. Further, due to the sensor's performance capabilities to monitor DEF solutions (e.g, AdBlue®), the sensor performs simultaneously as a urea quality sensor and urea concentration sensor.

Description: The FPS2800B12C4 is a novel fluid property sensor that will directly and simultaneously measure the viscosity, density, dielectric constant and temperature of fluids. Relying on patented tuning fork technology, the sensor monitors the direct and dynamic relationship between multiple physical properties to determine the quality, condition and contaminant loading of fluids such as engine oil, fuel, transmission and brake fluid, hydraulic and gear oils, refrigerants and solvents. The multi-parametric analysis capability improves fluid characterization algorithms. The FPS provides in-line monitoring of fluids for a wide range of OEM and aftermarket installations including fluid reservoirs, process lines and pressurized high flow conduits (e.g., engine oil gallery) for applications that include on and off highway vehicles, HVAC&R, compressors, industrial equipment and turbines. A universal digital CAN J1939 compliant protocol provides easy to connect interface to main Host controller. A simple 4 pin connector allows for cost effective mounting options.

Description: The FPS2851ULC4 is a urea sensor that directly and simultaneously measures the viscosity, density and dielectric constant of diesel emission fluid (DEF) to determine urea quality, urea concentration or presence of unauthorized fluids in the DEF tank or feed-line to Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. Relying on patented tuning fork technology, our MEAS multi parameter urea sensor measures urea concentration, identifies urea quality and urea temperature of DEF used in SCR systems. This enables DEF OBD and control logic to determine if the quality and concentration of urea feed to the SCR system is optimized for reducing NOx emissions. The optimized in-line mounted urea quality sensor provides real-time multi-parametric analysis DEF and utilizes high performance algorithms to provide direct feedback to urea feed control systems or ECMs to optimize emission control for NOx reduction. The FPS2851ULC4 is an important tool for meeting regulated OBD compliance to confirm urea presence and concentration, security signal communication. Emissions compliance with JP 09, EPA 10, Tier IV and EURO VI is ensured with our platform technology. Further, due to the sensor's performance capabilities to monitor DEF solutions (e.g, AdBlue®), the sensor performs simultaneously as a urea quality sensor and urea concentration sensor.
