DEVELOPMENT KITS

The Kionix Accelerometer Application and Firmware Development Kit provides a simple environment to quickly begin the development of applications and firmware that incorporate Kionix accelerometers. The Development Kit provides a common interface to Kionix evaluation boards. The included software provides an easy-to-use interface for displaying and recording acceleration data. Plus, a graphical register map allows the user to see and change the contents of control registers.

Silicon LabsThe Silicon Labs development board allows the use of a standard 8051 microcontroller core and a USB interface for PC development/evaluation environments. Additionally, the F340 Adapter Board provides a visual indication (through an LED array) of interrupts (motion and tap) and screen rotation output states for Kionix products that include those functionalities.

The Kionix KX_94 Development Board provides developers and engineers with easy access to the capabilities of Kionix’s KXP94 and KXR94 series of tri-axis accelerometers. The development board creates a solid foundation for understanding motion, and enables quick and easy proof of concept. Also, with onboard battery, microprocessor, memory, crystal oscillator and plenty of breadboard space, it operates as a stand-alone development platform. Kit includes a Kionix KXP94-2050 or KXR94-2050 Tri-Axis Accelerometer, and a Texas Instruments MSP430F149 MCU.

TI Dev NetworkThe Texas Instruments MSP430F149 is a 16Bit RISC microprocessor with 2 Kbytes of ram and 60Kbytes of Flash Memory for program storage. It has an integrated 12Bit Sigma Delta Analog to Digital Converter with 8 Channels. It also has 2 Hardware USARTS for communications, and is low power at 1.8-3.6V and 250uA per MIPS. The demonstration boards provide a wired USB or a 2.4GHz wireless connection to a PC.  Basic software is also provided to acquire acceleration data from the boards.

EVALUATION BOARDS

To facilitate prototype work with Kionix accelerometers, Kionix has created evaluation boards for each accelerometer product. The evaluation boards provide access to the pins of the accelerometer, contain all of the appropriate decoupling capacitors and pull-up resistors, and allow for easy connection into a prototyping system.
